About The Role

Accredited Supportive Living Services Limited (ASLS) is seeking Health Care Aides for its new Designated Supportive Living (DSL) complex in Grimshaw Alberta named Stone Brook.

The suitable candidate will be required to provide a current criminal records check and child and youth intervention check at acceptance of hiring as well as have or obtain a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
 
Job Duties for ASLS Health Care Aide:
  • Responsible for the provision of personal care of residents of the Designated Supportive Living complex;
  • Utilize the Resident’s Care Plan developed by a Registered Nurse;
  • Provide individualized care to ASLS’s Level 3, Level 4, and Level 4 Dementia residents;
  • Promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional,  and spiritual well-being of residents and families;
  • Complies with policies, procedures and work routines;
  • Ensures a safe, clean, and healthy work environment; and
  • Works in partnership with other individuals and departments to promote customer service for residents, guests, and staff.

About You

Qualifications:
  • Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate (or willingness to obtain);
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language;
  • Competency in computers and programs such as Microsoft Office projects;
  • Mentally and physically able to do duties as outlined above;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers;
  • Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills; and
  • Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families, and the public.
