Currently, ASLS is searching for a full time LPN for our facility: Stone Brook - Designated Supportive Living – a division of Accredited Supportive Living Services, located in Grimshaw, AB.
As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will:
- Provide safe and effective nursing care according to policies and nursing care standards;
- Observe, monitor, report, and document changes in the resident's physical, mental, and emotional state;
- Assist the resident with activities of daily living and provide the resident and his/her family with relevant information and teaching; and
- Collaborate as a member of the health care team, and deliver consistent quality care to meet the needs of the resident who may be aging, have medical conditions or have developmental disabilities
To qualify for this key role, you will need to have successfully completed an approved Practical Nursing education program (diploma or certificate in practical nursing), and be registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta. In addition to the educational requirements, you will need at least 2 years of work experience as an LPN.
Experience within an assisted living facility or Continuing Care centre would be considered an asset.
Due to the nature of the role, you will also be required to have or pass the following:
- Criminal Record Check;
- Child and Youth Intervention Record Check;
- Standard First Aid/CPR certificate – or willingness to obtain as part of mandatory training;
- Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance; and
- Intermediate knowledge and usage of computer programs (web based, Microsoft, etc.).
Please apply for the role if you have excellent communication skills which will be needed to follow directions and communicate effectively with team members and residents. Of course, the successful candidate will have high-level interpersonal and organizational skills.
